Anti-Slip & Steep Driveways

Anti-Slip Resurfacing for Steep Driveways

If your driveway is slippery when it rains, resurfacing will fix it. Our coating is one of the most slip-resistant finishes available for outdoor concrete, rated P5 — the top slip rating for exterior surfaces. It stays grippy in the wet, which is exactly the problem most Sydney driveways develop after years of wear.

Steep and sloped driveways

Steep and sloped driveways are among the jobs we do most often, and they are exactly where a proper slip-rated finish matters most. Sydney has no shortage of them — the Northern Beaches, the Sutherland Shire and the North Shore are full of blocks that fall away sharply from the street.

On a steep block, replacing the slab is usually the worst option available: expensive, disruptive, and often impractical for access. Resurfacing gets you a safer, better-looking surface without any of that.

Worth knowing

The detail

Why painted concrete makes it worse

  • Paint on a steep driveway is a genuinely bad idea.
  • It lasts six to twelve months, and painted concrete gets more slippery when wet, not less.
  • Our finish is a bonded, textured overlay — the texture is the slip resistance, and it is part of the surface rather than a film sitting on top of it.

Where else it matters

  • Pool surrounds, ramps, shaded side paths that never quite dry out, and steps.
  • Anywhere that is wet, sloped or in shade is worth doing properly.

No change to levels

The finish is only a few millimetres thick, so there is no risk of new trip hazards and no effect on drainage — heights and clearances stay exactly as they are.

Start to finish

Our Process

Pressure wash. Mask up the walls, garage doors, garden beds and any pool fencing. Fill the visible cracks. Spray, in the colour you have chosen. Then seal. We do not grind. Most driveways take two to three days from start to finish, depending on size and weather, and we will give you a firm timeframe once we have seen the job.

The same finish is used for our standard concrete resurfacing and over pebblecrete. Browse the colours, see our projects, or view all of our services. To get a price, get a free quote.

All you need to do before we arrive is clear cars, pot plants and furniture off the area. We handle the masking, cleaning and surface prep from there.
